About this Event
View map10 x 10: Ten Women / 10 Prints is a portfolio of ten screenprints compiled and published by the Berkeley Art Center and Jos Sances of Alliance Graphics to celebrate International Women’s Day 1995 and the 75th anniversary of the 19th Constitutional amendment affirming women’s right to vote in the United States.
Featuring the work of Juana Alicia, Kim Anno, Claudia Bernardi, Mildred Howard, Hung Liu, Yolanda M. López, Ruth Morgan, Mary Lovelace O'Neal, Faith Ringgold, and Carrie Mae Weems.
Located during a recent collections survey, the portfolio—of which a limited edition of 75 prints were produced—has never been exhibited in its entirety until now. The portfolio was acquired in 1995 by then Sesnon Gallery Director Bridget Barnes and Joyce Brodsky, then chair of the UC Santa Cruz Art Department. The works by Hung Liu and Yolanda Lopez were exhibited in 2018 in Spoken/Unspoken: Forms of Resistance. Special thanks to curatorial intern Madison Garay for her work on this exhibition.
