10th Anniversary Norris Center Natural History SymposiumBuilding Community Through Natural History

Join us Saturday February 24 from 12:30-5pm at the UCSC Haybarn for the Norris Center's 10th anniversary Natural History Symposium! Following our theme this year of "Building Community Through Natural History", we're excited to bring together the broader community of naturalists in our area for a fun inspiring afternoon of presentations, and participatory nature art. Please join us for this free event (donations of $5 for non-students strongly encouraged).

1:30 Keynote Speaker: Dr. Justin Cummings, a UCSC Ecology and Evolutionary Biology PhD alumni now serving as Third District Supervisor in Santa Cruz County: "Preparing Yourself to Preserve our Environment"

2:45 Faculty and Student Presentations, including Dr. Lily Balloffet from our Latin American and Latino Studies Department: “From the Ground Up: Snakes, Science, and History”

3:30 Participatory Nature Art Block print-making hosted by UCSC Arts faculty and students
