2021 Innovation Frontiers virtual Conference: Neurolink

Neurotechnologies in the form of brain-machine interfaces are currently being developed to address medical conditions to alleviate the suffering caused by diseases or injuries.  However, it’s not a secret in the industry that the long-term goal is to create an artificial internet-connected overlay to the brain that enables users to interface with future intelligent machines.  As the capabilities and applications of neural interfaces advance, the ethical challenges bring up questions about agency, identity, privacy, cognitive liberty, equity, normality, and justice.
