"Slug 48" is a 48-hour film competition for UC Santa Cruz undergraduate students, presented thanks to the support and enthusiasm of UC Santa Cruz alumnus Kevin Nolting, former editor at Pixar Animation Studios, where he edited the Academy Award-winning films Up!, Inside Out, and Soul. All UCSC students are eligible to participate.

A 48-hour film is one that is written, shot, edited, and all music composed for within a 48-hour time period. More information and specifications here

The competition concludes with a screening of all films and a presentation of awards, as determined by a panel of celebrity judges. UCSC staff, faculty, students & guests of the participants are invited to attend and support the student films.
