AI for Robotics: Integrating Techniques and Job Outlook

For robots to operate alongside humans, they require substantial intelligence. Yet, artificial intelligence has been primarily developed in isolation from everyday complex, unstructured environments.

This is where the jobs are. Industry is looking for people who can integrate the various AI subfields with robotics. People who know how to develop intelligent systems tosolve high value problems in Industry 4.0, semi-conductor fabrication, and other such enterprises will be in high demand.

Join Bipin Thomas, M.S, seasoned AI executive and chair of the UCSC Silicon Valley Extension AI program, and Sudhakar Alla, B.S., autonomous systems engineer, as they discuss AI techniques for perception, manipulation, reasoning and learning, and methods for integrating these techniques with robots and drones.

You’ll get a glimpse at the role AI plays in enabling robotic technologies to solve a variety of enterprise problems and learn new skills that are necessary to be deployed for robotics based applications in multiple industries. Both speakers are teaching a new course on the subject, Artificial Intelligence for Robotics.
