Allison Garcia (Kresge, ‘81) does community photography in Santa Cruz, shooting events, portraits, and stock photos for non-profit organizations, the City of Santa Cruz, and UC Santa Cruz. In 2018, Allison created an interview and photography project called, “Black Lives in Santa Cruz: What Matters” integrated onto the Santa Cruz County Office of Education’s Initiative for Racial Equity and Justice. In 2016, she brought Open Show to Santa Cruz.
Laurie Aiello (Kresge, ‘94) worked in Human Resources administration in the Bay Area and for UCSC Staff Human Resources, until leaving to raise a family. She does freelance photography, shooting events and family portraits, as well as doing volunteer work as an event photographer for a variety of local non-profit organizations. She joined the Open Show Santa Cruz team to help build community among local photographers.
