This three-hour, hands-on workshop offers Summer Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs) resources and support in course design for their summer classes. The workshop will provide participants the opportunity to reflect on and develop learning outcomes for their courses, craft assignments and assessments that align with those objectives, and select daily classroom activities that support student learning. Attendees will receive instruction in approaching course design from a learner-focused orientation, and have time to brainstorm and discuss these models with an interdisciplinary group of peer instructors. Participants will leave the workshop with tangible materials and techniques to implement in their summer classrooms. Participants are encouraged to bring a device (laptop or tablet).
