Cognitive Illusions—A LeanAgile Meetup
An Agile transformation is about getting people to better navigate the VUCA—the volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous—world. Join as at this monthly LeanAgile Meetup in Santa Clara to learn how success is predicated on our ability to see the world differently. Unfortunately our very human brains evolved in a much different world. They don’t function quite the way we think they do creating cognitive illusions that can hold us back.
Consultant Larry Apke, an author, podcaster, and frequent speaker at Agile software events, will present brain science, focusing on strategies to overcome Cognitive Illusions.
Apke has been working in software development for over 20 years, including more than a decade in Agile software development. Clients include Oracle, Apple, American Express, USAA, and numerous top executives.

About the Meetup LeanAgile Insights
LeanAgile Insights is a monthly Meetup co-founded by UCSC Extension instructors as a Silicon Valley forum for Lean Agile practitioners, leaders, coaches, students, and lifelong learners to come together to share and learn. The organizers, David Bakhtnia and Hong Nguyen-Phuong are dedicated to ever improving the development of technology-based products and services. David and Hong teach Scrum, Agile, and project management. Everyone in Silicon Valley now talks of Scrum and agile as givens. Are they truly given, or is there much "sino" (Scrum in name only) with little value delivered and slowly? Is everyone actively participating or are products completed only to languish on the shelves? In 2019, we will endeavor to tighten the focus on value realization, helping everyone reach the state of simply Agile.
