The UCSC Genomics Institute is excited to invite Erich Jarvis to speak to the UC Santa Cruz community on how we can advance anti-racism in genomics. Jarvis will give a lecture titled, “Surviving and thriving as an underrepresented minority scientist in a majority environment."

Jarvis is a professor at Rockefeller University, who focuses on the genetics underlying vocal learning. His talk will serve as the keynote lecture for the Genomics Institute's Advancing anti-racist practices in genomics symposium. While the bulk of the symposium is limited to Genomics Institute affiliates, this lecture is being livestreamed and is free and open to the public.

Please register for the webinar to attend virtually, or join us in BE 180 on Friday, May 19, at 4:15pm.
