Hosted by the Institute for Social Transformation and UC Santa Cruz Social Sciences Division

Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Gathering for Change Gala, where we invite the community to come learn about and celebrate the unwavering power of collective action for building a better future, even in uncertain times. During this event, you’ll mingle with changemakers and visionaries affiliated with the institute and with other like-minded individuals from across our region who are continuing to fight for positive change.

Enjoy a night of inspiring stories, live music, food and refreshments, and meaningful connections, while learning how to support transformative initiatives. We’ll share lessons from our work about how strategic research, education, and community partnerships can help to create lasting change for justice and sustainability, both locally and globally.

We’ll also be honoring our founding Faculty Director, Professor Chris Benner, who has been instrumental in building the long term vision of the institute, and we’ll introduce you to our incoming Faculty Director, Professor Galina Hale, who will boldly lead us into the future.

Everyone is welcome, so please invite a friend! We will gather from 5-7pm at the beautiful Cowell Ranch Historic Hay Barn at UC Santa Cruz. This event is in-person only. Festive cocktail attire encouraged.

Parking is free starting at 5pm in lots 115/116.
