About this Event
Join us for a hybrid information session about the 2024 Spain & Morocco Global Seminar!
Program Description: Explore Granada, Spain and its role in collective memory as a site of encounter between Christian and Muslim, and European and North African societies. Through medieval and modern transformations, writers, artists, and musicians turn to the city as a site of inspiration and investigation of religious and cultural relationships, exploring missed opportunities, hidden and alternate pasts, and unacknowledged inheritances. Through class lessons and cultural activities in Spain and Morocco, you will investigate these rich sites of cultural encounter first hand and learn about the ways these encounters have been imagined and invoked in Spanish, Arabic, and beyond.
