The Chicanx Latinx Resource Center, better known as El Centro, at UC Santa Cruz is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Since our establishment in 1995, El Centro has been a hub of organized activities and resources supporting student transition, retention, graduation, and academic advancement. El Centro strives to create comfortable spaces for students and raise awareness of the social, political, economic, historical, and cultural realities of Chicanx and Latinx communities. 

This significant milestone will be celebrated joyfully by hosting a Treintañera, a double Quinceañera. The celebration will highlight El Centro’s contributions to the campus community and recognize the contributions and accomplishments of interns, faculty members, staff, community members, and alumni. During this one-day celebration, El Centro will host an Anniversary Program Luncheon, and Alumni Networking Reception! In addition to this full day, El Centro is partnering with the Art department to host a Special Topics Mural Course where students will engage in a collective art process through the design and actual execution of a mural painting on campus.
