Join us on Friday, December 6 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Museum of Art and History (MAH) to explore "MORE THAN WHITE COATS."

Last spring,  the UCSC symposium "Reclaiming the lab coat" helped the community explore how their identity impacted their experience in the scientific space through decorating lab coats. This Friday, the UCSC Genomics Institute will be displaying those coats and other original artwork at a special community exhibition at the MAH.

The event will include a kid-friendly art project, brief remarks from Genomics Institute Faculty Director of Diversity Sofie Salama at 6pm, and an exhibition of lab coats designed by UC Santa Cruz science community as well as original paintings by Genomics Institute graduate student Ryan Hoffman.

Please join us to explore what is behind the iconic white coats: a multitude of cultures, identities, and more.
