Oakes 50th Anniversary

We are celebrating Oakes 50th Anniversary. Join us as we honor our history and celebrate the future. Beginning with the visionary leadership of our first Provost, Dr. J. Herman Blake and co-Provost Dr. Rafael Guzmán, Oakes has always been a space to celebrate and nurture racial justice and unity. We are proud to continue that legacy in our 50th year.

Anniversary Program Includes:

Provost Welcome + Oakes Art Walk

Starting at the Oakes Mural Room, 2nd floor of Oakes Academic
Start the morning off taking in the magnificence of the Oakes Mural Room, and join us on a walking tour of the rest of the murals adorning the college. Muralist Victor Cervantes will join us to share about the behind the scenes process of creating these cornerstone pieces of the Oakes Visual Landscape.

Rooted in Reflection: looking back on our time at Oakes

Oakes Learning Center
