Puerto Rican documentary film “Filiberto”
Screening Wednesday, May 29th at 7:30 p.m. in Merrill 102, free and open to the public. This documentary shares the story of a professional musician who abandons his trumpet and family to live the clandestine life of an armed revolutionary for Puerto Rican independence. Filiberto (2018) follows the tragic tale of Filiberto Ojeda Ríos who was murdered by the FBI in 2005 for claiming freedom for Puerto Rico. His legacy lives among all freedom and anti-imperial fighters across the global south.
