In honor of Latine Heritage Month, join us for a book talk with Karla Tatiana Vasquez, author of “The SalviSoul Cookbook”— the first Salvadoran cookbook traditionally published in the U.S. Karla shares her story of being born in El Salvador and raised in Los Angeles after her family fled during the 1980s amid the country’s civil war. Through eighty recipes, she explores the rich flavors of Salvadoran cuisine and themes of intergenerational storytelling, cultural preservation of Salvadoran traditions through the culinary arts, and the women and matriarchs that preserve them.
