About this Event
The United Nations predicts that by 2050 almost 70 percent of the world’s population will live in urban areas, increasing the need for smarter, safer, and more sustainable cities that are responsive to their citizens.
New technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G, Big Data, data analytics, IoT, and predictive urban design will be leveraged to realize more liveable urban communities and have a positive impact in the economy, mobility, environment, people, living, and government.
Join William Kao, BSEE, MSEE, Ph.D., an expert consultant on renewable energy, clean technology, and emerging technologies, for a brief overview of what connects our most successful smart cities and where the jobs are growing. Learn from regional case studies, focus on high demand job sectors, and get a glimpse of Smart Cities: Foundations, Principles and Applications, a new UCSC Silicon Valley Extension live-online Procurement and Supply Chain Management course starting Oct. 7.
