Special Alumni Offer! Talking Heads' "Stop Making Sense" Outdoor Screening

Use the alumni promo link to purchase your tickets in our reserved alumni seating area for the Quarry Amphitheater’s season opener - a screening of the “Stop Making Sense” concert film. The film followed legendary rock band Talking Heads during their 1983 “Speaking in Tongues” album tour. Today, renowned independent entertainment company A24 has restored the film in honor of its 40th anniversary. The film features a number of historic performances from “Psycho Killer” (1977) to “Burning Down the House” (1983).

In addition to this unique outdoor viewing experience, the evening will include a Q&A panel featuring founding member of Talking Heads, Jerry Harrison, and UC Santa Cruz alumnus James Mockoski (Porter ’98, film and video), archivist and restoration supervisor who was involved in uncovering the film’s lost footage.

This exclusive alumni opportunity is part of a series called Spotlight Santa Cruz - a program offering unique experiences designed to celebrate UC Santa Cruz alumni living in the local community. This event is made possible by Noise Pop Industries and The Quarry Amphitheater.

This promo link offers reserved seating in an exclusive alumni & guests-only section with a premier view of the show.
