Story Circles

Come to meet, share, learn, and form connections with fellow banana slugs of different backgrounds.

Story Circles is an event designed to facilitate conversations between people of different cultural backgrounds. After getting into a small group of the members establish ground rules for the group. We talk to explain, and listen to understand. The group will be then asked an opening question to break the ice like, "What is the significance behind your name?" which well then be followed by a period of time to reflect and talk a bout what was shared. A more intimate question will then be asked such as ,"Describe a time you had a cultural misunderstanding and what did you learn from it?" Lastly, a second time to reflect will be given followed by closing statements.
