CANCELED: Tour of the Jean H. Langenheim Rooftop Greenhouses
The newly dedicated Jean H. Langenheim Greenhouses are an active hub for ecological learning at UC Santa Cruz. Located on the rooftop of the Thimann Labs building on Science Hill, these greenhouses have been used for over 50 years of plant research and education. Come see how our programs and internships are supporting student learning in the fields of ecological restoration, plant disease, biodiversity conservation, plant ecology, coevolution, agroecology, and more! We will have displays of current plant research taking place in our facilities, and will showcase the active learning opportunities available to students through their coursework, restoration-based internships, and faculty-led research. With over 500 diverse species from across the globe (including some highlighted California native plants) in our instructional collections, visitors are sure to have their attention piqued by this tour! Tours will begin at 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be served.
