Glenn Ligon is a celebrated American artist, internationally renowned for his politically provocative and formally rigorous text-based paintings, installations, neon, photographs, sculptures, and videos. Ligon's first comprehensive mid-career retrospective, AMERICA, was at the Whitney Museum of Art in 2011.
