We Belong-Pertenecemos: Immigrant Justice Research, Resource Fair and Film Screening
We Belong-Pertenecemos, a collaboration for community engaged research and immigrant justice, is excited to announce a community event that is meant to showcase a combination of research and highlight community partners' work. The event is designed to help share research findings with partners and the broader community and will feature representatives from approximately 20 community organizations that provide services to community members of Watsonville on social issues such as housing, jobs, public spaces, health and Youth as well as bring community resources.
This event is free to the public.
We Belong was developed in 2018 and connects undergraduate researchers along with some graduate students with community organizations focused on immigrant conditions in Santa Cruz County, especially mixed status families.
There will also be a FREE film screening of Fruits of Labor, that focuses on the Watsonville community and helps provide insight on immigrant life in the region.
This event is being co-sponsored by UCSC Oaks College CARA Program, Institute for Social Transformation, and the Research Center for the Americas.
