Join us on Saturday, July 20th from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Boulder Creek Recreation Center!

As part of the Wildlands Urban Interface (WUI) Research for Resilience: Addressing California’s Climate, Conservation & Housing Crises initiative, the Center for Critical Urban and Environmental Studies, with aligned community grassroots and government organizations, will host Housing and Habitat Community Resource Fairs in WUI designated areas across Santa Cruz county – where the fringes of development reach natural areas.

This fair will include the opportunity to participate in our survey of WUI residents, to understand rhe housing histories, demographics, and needs of people in these communities.

The first will take place on Saturday, July 20th from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Boulder Creek Recreation Center (map) with the following organizations on site: Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Mountain Community Resources, California Department of Insurance, Long-term Recovery Group, Catholic Charities, FireSafe Council of Santa Cruz County, Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz CountyRecover California, The Trust For Public Land, and the Santa Cruz County Office of Response, Recovery, and Resilience. Future fairs will be held in Davenport with the Davenport Resource Service Center, in late Summer, and in early Fall in Pajaro with La Manzana Community Resources.
